Tourism in Deauville
Make the most of your camping holiday in Deauville to visit the town and do some sightseeing in Normandy. Famous for its American film festival, casino, villas and unspoilt beaches, the Côte Fleurie’s most exclusive resort is around 1 hour 20 minutes’ drive from the 4-star L’Escapade campsite.
All the city’s attractions – golf tournaments, galas, regattas, horse races and the American Film Festival – make it one of the most popular resorts for international customers.
When you arrive in Deauville, start your visit with a stroll along Les Planches, the seafront promenade frequented every year by numerous actors and other celebrities. So famous is it that it has been designated a ” historic monument ” since 2019.
After a stroll along the beaches, it’s time to venture into the historic center and higher ground to discover the remarkable buildings that remind us that Deauville was, and still is, a major vacation destination for Parisians: villa Strassburger, villa Breloque, town hall, casino and Barrière group palaces (Royal, Normandy).
In addition to the American festival held every September, Deauville hosts major events all year round, especially in fine weather, including horse racing at the La Touques racecourse. Even if you’re not much of a gambler, why not visit the casino out of curiosity, before returning to the comfort of your mobile home at our campsite near Deauville.
With 1,250 berths, Deauville is also one of Normandy’s leading marinas in terms of capacity. Water sports are also widely practiced here, including sand yachting, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and catamaran sailing. You’ll find plenty of places to hire equipment and take lessons to learn how to practice them, either in groups or in individual sessions.
